Abstract

What is the meaning of record-breaking read statistics in ResearchGate? Do only articles in Nature and Science achieve "top-listings"? Or is there something else behind the statistics? Can such statistics be trusted for assessment of performance? This questions are considered in relation to a real example case of a top-ranked paper written by the author.
